NOISE

Noise, it comes at us in many different forms.  We all seem to agree that noise is detrimental to our hearing yet we do little to protect our ears.   Did you know it also affects concentration, nerves, mood and not to mention sleep?  Think about it for a moment you either hear a constant noise over a period of time or a very loud noise for a short period of time.  We tend to lose our concentration first, then we preoccupy with the noise then our mood changes as well other health related issues.  If you are trying to go to sleep and there is noise most people are unable to fall sleep.
Did you know that just over 6 percent of the world’s population suffers from disabling hearing loss?  These are staggering numbers.  The World Health Organization’s break down:  56% adult males, 44% adult females and 7% children. These number are projected to grow considerable over the next 30 years.  Hearing loss is the most common work related injury in the  USA.  According to the Department of Labor businesses pay out over $200 million dollars in claims.
Sadly, for some unknow reason so many people don’t feel the need to treat hearing loss even when it affects them daily.  The average patient waits 7 to 10 years.  At that point it is not possible get back what was lost.  A few things to remember; turn down the volume and treat hearing loss sooner rather than later.  Clinically, more and more studies are confirming the correlation between the lack of sound stimulation and cognitive issues.  To see the CDC noise meter CLICK HERE    Protect your hearing and protect your quality of life.
