Hearing Aids that REMIND you.

You may already know most hearing aids are Bluetooth compatible, but did you know some can now connect to the internet? The new Oticon OPN platform is an iPhone ready hearing device that also supports “If this then that” technology. IFTTT allows users to create recipes or formulas that notify them when something happens.
For example “IF the hearing instrument battery is low THEN send me a text message” or “IF the smoke alarm goes off THEN send a voice alert to my hearing aids.”  “IF my calendar/clock says take my medicine THEN send a voice alert to take my hearing aids.” This technology opens a lot of doors and can be used with hundreds of different products from the NEST and FitBit to even Facebook and Twitter. And the number of products supporting this technology is always growing!
This technology allows patients with hearing loss to turn a disability into something positive. What’s more is this is an open platform technology meaning that new recipes or formulas can be created by the patient and allow them to fully customize their hearing instruments to help make their everyday life easier. The IFTTT platform is available for use on both iPhone and Android devices.
Our offices strive to stay current in hearing instrument technology and share the best and most convenient features with all our patients. We offer comprehensive audiological testing, functional hearing in noise tests, and real ear measurements.
