Medicare has increased its annual deductible amount this year (2020).
The annual deductible for all Medicare Part B beneficiaries is $198 in 2020, an increase of $13 from the annual deductible of $185 in 2019. The increase in the Part B premiums and deductible is largely due to rising spending on physician-administered drugs.
Important to keep in mind there are several secondary insurances that do not cover the Medicare deductible amounts, so be proactive and contact your insurance to see if they will cover your Medicare deductible. If your secondary insurance does not cover the Medicare deductible, you will likely be responsible to pay toward your annual Medicare deductible when you see your health care providers this year.
